The happiest place in Sydney (or the world....)

I am back at the Mother ship.....aka Planet Cake Sydney headquarters.   Our Basis 110 Masters class consisted of 9 seasoned cake decorators, Anna Maria (teaching), Clare, Mary, Leonie, Sharon, Me, Sam , Leslie and Effie - all confirmed PC addicts and cake crazies.  After 4 whole sugar filled days.....the Master Class is officially sugared out...... don't believe me?  Well, I shall let the pics tell the story........

Here we all are, full of smiles not knowing what we were really in for!

Enjoying our long lunch....... we were so confident....it was after all, just day 1......

By day 2, the flowers were just starting to take shape...... making sugar flowers is so stressful...... I just don't know how the ultra talented people, such as Jacqueline of Petalsweet Cakes do it!!??  I keep breaking the fiddley petals and they just dont open the way I want them to!!

Topsy turvy......peice of cake....yeah right, Effie....
Do you Melbourne girls recognise Effie?  Of course - she and Fran are part of the Melbourne PC team.

Leslie being....well.....Leslie........

Oh...the concentration........  careful you dont get hot glue on that tongue Sam!!

Anna Maria braved laryngitis to teach our class!

The OMG cookies made by Anna Marie's hubby....thank you Joseph!!

the pink cookie monster didn't think anyone was looking..... er.....Linda, aren't you staying gluten free??

Open wide.......

Jun sneaks in for the food.....

by day 3.... things were heating up.  Poor Sharon needed to make enough flowers for 4 tiers!!  Talk about ambitious!!

Day 3 and Leonie & Kanissa had just about had enough of the flowers...... only 50 more to go.....

Clare needs to just take a wee nap.......

Day 4 and we have our 2nd wind...... no Sydney trip is complete without a visit to Adriano Zumbo, Balmain.

A spot of breakfast on Darling Street.....

Some chai latte,

Some eggs benedict....on crispy potato rounds, with REAL hollandaise....slurrrppp......

then back to work...... fluro lighting is sooo unflattering!!

Tulips in Leonie's hair.....

Do I look pretty?

We need some fuel......nutella doughnuts from Bertoni and Adriano's macarons....

Guess who......

...and the finished product!

shoe with some bling?

detail to the bodice.

Master Class 2010.... it was awesome!!  A special congratulations to the PC graduates!!

So for all of you who've ever had a cake made, or if one of these talented girls in this photo has ever made you a cake.... well..... you really have to appreciate them for all the hard work and love that goes into each masterpiece.  It was an honour and terribly inspirational as well as insightful working next to these girls and to watch their designs take shape.

Sincere thanks go to Anna Maria and Linda for their inspiring talents and patience over the last few days!

Stay posted for the rest of July, with the pursuit of cake leading to Melbourne, next on the itinerary.
